THE public who have been to the Ramsgate Court in the last month have had to endure the appalling state of the toilets, which are blocked.

Effluent, which overflows from the blocked drains, flows down the walkway into the parking lot where staff and the public park.

“It is disgusting and has been like this for over a month,” said a concerned citizen.

“It must be difficult for the people who work there to tolerate the mess and the stench.”

Staff say they have requested that the Department of Public Works act on the matter­, but so far, the problem persists.

They also say it is a health hazard to work in such horrendous conditions.

Mbulelo Baloyi, spokesperson for Department of Public Works was approached for comment but none was forthcoming at the time of going to press
