THE Bambanani Taxi Association says it is happy with the resolutions taken by the municipality regarding the memorandum the association submitted last week.

The association, SAPS and the municipality met on Tuesday as the association had given the municipality and the SAPS seven days to respond to its grievances.

Alphius Sikobi from the association said the municipality and the SAPS had given them permission to move back to the Port Shepstone rank on Wednesday.

“The police, the municipality and the association agreed that the Bambanani Taxi Association can move back to the rank. The police said they will be present from Wednesday morning to make sure the situation there is monitored,” said Sikobi.

There have been some incidents of violence at the taxi rank between rival taxi operators.

Sikobi said that another issue that was addressed by the municipality was the issue of illegal stands.

“The law enforcement assured us they will look into the matter of illegal stands.

“They will make sure that taxis operating in a illegal stand will be dealt with accordingly,” he said.

He said they are pleased with the outcome
