Toddler-rape suspect still on the run

2015-08-27 06:00

POLICE are still looking for the man who allegedly raped a three-year-old girl in Mkholombe on Saturday morning.

A reliable source, close to the Fever, said the community is aware of the man’s identity and community members have threatened to take matters into their own hands should they find the alleged rapist before the police do.

Lieutenant-Colonel Zandra Wiid, spokes-person for SAPS, told the Fever last week that the man had fled the area.

“No arrests have been made yet.”

Investigations are continuing.

The toddler was left in the care of a relative when the man entered the home and raped her.

The mother noticed the next day that the child was emotional and crying all day.

She then saw that the girl’s private parts were injured and her mouth was swollen.

The mother reported the matter to police
