THE Umbango River Conservancy (URC) held its third annual general meeting on Saturday at Gate Ministries in Port Shepstone, attended by more than 50 members.

The guest speaker, Naran Sunker, thrilled the audience with his topic “cut the red tape”.

He urged individuals to join the conservancy and contribute positively to the well-being of the environment. He stressed that history has shown that ordinary people all over the world are working together to make a difference. Joining a conservancy empowers you, educates you and enrichens your life, he said.

Pastor Reggie John, member of URC and founder of Hope Park in Marburg, spoke of the partnership between these two organisations.

Both are bent on uplifting the environment and making it a better place for the community.

URC thanked Gate Ministries for the venue and for the meals, generously contributed by the church.
