AUTHOR and motivational speaker, Bongi Malishe from Murchison, recently won the Writers Lifetime Achievement Award at the 7th Annual Social Cohesion Advocacy and Nation Building Awards, known as Indondo, held at the Pietermaritsburg Protea Hotel.

Malishe was nominated by another author, Thobile Msomi of Mgababa, author of Qina Mfelokazi, who felt she deserved the award judging from her work.

Malishe said its always been her dream to win such an award however, she never visualised it happening so soon.

“I was so surprised when I heard I had been nominated for this award. Thobile, who is also a writer, nominated me in the writers lifetime achievement category for my book Kubuhlungu ukuthanda ungathandwa. When I got the award I was humbled. I realised that my dream had come earlier than imagined.”

Malishe said this award is one of her greatest achievements
