THE Scottburgh SAPS Victim Friendly Facility that assists victims, especially women and children who have experienced some form of abuse, received funds from Shereen Paul of Ultimate Dance Fitness recently.

Paul and her team raised the funds during a Women’s Day zumba exercise workout at Park Rynie beach.

Some of the funds will be used to upgrade the existing children’s room, the balance will be given handed to Priscilla Tedder of Scottburgh Lions, who procured sanitary ware, toiletries, underwear and other personal necessities including towels.

These items were put into comfort bags that were made and sponsored by a Scottburgh resident, Rusty Roestors.

He also made cloth pouches that were placed in the bags, and every abuse victim that comes to the facility will receive one of the comfort bags.

Although the handover marked the end of Women’s Month, Captain Moodley said that through these comfort bags, the care of women and children continues and remains a priority.
