SITUATED on the banks of the Umzimkhulu River this landmark restaurant has it all.

Founded in 2004 by Roger and Kelly Allchin it’s become famous for good food and relaxing environment.

The “catch of the day” is what sets it apart from the others - offering a variety of fish - Dorado, Red Roman, John Dory and Snapper.

The restaurant has added sweet indulgences and starters to it’s menu.

Customers can look forward to desserts, milkshakes and ice cream, as well as oyster, onion rings with fish cakes and snack baskets. All these have become very popular.

The restaurant will host an English Pop Quiz for Port Shepstone Rangers on Friday, March 31.

Tickets are R85, and include fish, chips and mushy peas in true English style. Dessert is ice cream.

The event starts at 6pm for 6.30pm and promises to be a great night.

The restaurant is open from 10am to 3pm on Tuesday and Sunday, from 10am to 7pm from Wednesday to Saturday. It is closed on Mondays.

Fish on the River is on Facebook, Google and Tripadvisor.
