Beachfront improvements welcomed

2017-09-07 06:01

I HAVE in the past given the council a roasting by my scathing attack on the state of the beachfront. I walk that route at least once or twice a week. Today I saw a marked improvement. The river has broken through to sea and a lot of the effluent has dissipated. Not thanks to the powers that be, but the recent good rains. The parks on the way down and adjoining the river have, in the most, been cleaned of trash. The bottle collection point has been cleared of the bottles which were in disarray.

Please remove that bottle collection depot as it is being trashed by vagrants wanting bottles with a deposit attached. The pool has been emptied and hopefully will be shortly repaired.

The beach is being cleaned and is virtuously devoid of rubbish. The amusement park is still an eyesore and I suggest it be sold to the highest bidder for development, not to a buddy for a kickback, please. Well done so far, and get it right. Now remove the prostitutes and vagrants and police the culprits that trash the beachfront. I commend you thus far.
