TWO successful sporting events were hosted by Wild Coast Sun this past weekend. On Saturday the fifth and final race of the South Coast MTB Series took place while the trail run was held on Sunday.

Despite the many other sporting events taking place all around the province, organisers were satisfied with the great turnout of nearly 500 riders and runners.

Overall winners of the MTB were Mboneni Ngcobo for men and Hayley Smith in the ladies race. Top finishers in the trail run were Thembalethu Xesube (men) and Kathleen Goodhead (ladies).

Noah Thomas was the lucky winner of a new mountain bike valued at R6 500 in a draw sponsored by Bobby’s Cycles.

With the assistance of KZN Private Ambulance and NSRI Port Edward, only one minor injury was reported.

Wild Coast Sun is encouraged by the compliments that will result in sustainable 20km and 10km cycling and running routes for patrons on the property in the future.
