Business burglar caught red-handed

ON Monday at 5am, a
burglar was caught in Margate after stealing from an ornament shop.

The 27-year-old male was caught by Sergeant Des Theunissen­ who was on duty in the area and was informed about a possible break-in at a shop in O’Conner Street.

Police spokesperson
Lieutenant-Colonel Zandra Wiid said the burglary took place at 5am and Theunissen from Port Shepstone K9 unit, responded and arrested the suspect as he emerged from the shop with stolen ornaments,”

“The suspect was arrested and detained at the Margate SAPS,” said Wiid.

Theunissen contacted the owner to inform her that her shop had been broken into, but said the stolen goods had been recovered and the burglar had been arrested.

The suspect will appear in the Ramsgate Court on Tuesday facing a charge of burglary at a business premises. - Supplied.
