AS part of its Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign on the South Coast, CANSA visited a number of areas offering free breast screenings.

Sesethu Senene of Cansa said screening are done in partnership with Department of Health and Rotary.

“With our partners we took our mobile clinic to Gamalakhe Methodist Church, where we screened 18 women. Fortunately, on that visit we had no referrals,” said Senene.

Clinics visited included St Faiths, Margate and Bhomela.

“At the clinics 85 people were screened with five receiving referral letters for medical care,” said Senene.

She said they also did pap smears and PSA finger-prick tests.
