Christmas in South Africa, a time of disorderliness

2016-01-21 06:00

ONLY 20% of South Africans are Christians despite claims by others professing to be of that faith, who infringe the 10 Commandments - plural marriages, stealing, killing, lying, etc.

Note the following:

• A fertility ritual was celebrated at the end of the year by pagan adults.

• Christ was not born at Christmas, but probably in April, as he would not have survived birth in the freezing cold where he was housed in a stable.

• According to research, a population census did not take place at the end of the year.

Pious Christians attend church services and meet with family friends to commemorate the birth of Christ, who serves as the sacrificial lamb, forgiving one of sins.

The “professed” Christians indulge in drinking, orgies and feasting, squandering money, driving under the influence of liquor and contributing to the carnage on the road. Many law-abiding citizens dread this time of the year. One is inundated with rowdy behaviour, increased littering and especially the lack of basic services owing to an influx of visitors. The South African population features as one of the highest consumers of alcohol in the world indicating a lack of self-discipline and/or self-restraint.
