Donate blood, give someone another chance

2015-12-10 06:00

I WAS privileged and delighted to be invited by SANBS to a lunch on Saturday at Port Shepstone Country Club.

It was possibly the most moving and informative event I’ve ever attended.

Moving because we got to hear the touching story of a young local girl saved by blood donors and because I was lucky to be seated at the same table as a gentleman with over 275 donations under his belt - well done, Mr Felix.

It was informative because are you aware that only four percent of South Africans donate blood. And one pint can save not just one life, but many - four percent. That means that out of our +-52 million citizens, it’s a mere fraction that provides much-needed, life-giving blood.

Please donate if you are able - you don’t know who you may be giving a second chance to.

Proud donor of 53 pints
