THE drowning at Margate beach highlights the need to teach children water safety.

The real heroes are the tourists who saw the children struggling in the water and who dived in to assist, preventing more loss of life. The Fever salutes Adriaan and Annamarie Muller from Witbank.

Although Education MEC Peggy Nkonyeni has already appeared on TV and absolved the teachers of any wrongdoing, the question remains - why were these children allowed to swim when lifeguards had already finished their shift for the day?

Who was supervising them?

On a lighter note, we wish our readers who will be attending the Hibiskufees this weekend loads of fun.

See you at the Steve Hofmeyr concert.
