WOMEN are invited to a day of elegance, inspiration, motivation and empowerment at the Zomnotho Community Development Women Empowerment Imbizo on 27 November at San Lameer Golf Estate Hotel from 10am.

Nqobile Cele, chair of Zomnotho Community Development NPO, said they will be launching the organisation - Zomnotho - aimed at building a new generation of sisterhood.

The theme of the launch is “Pastel Glam Queens”, where the ladies will be welcomed by a “bubblegum carpet”, which signifies upliftment, calmness of the mind, a sense of spirituality and encourages creativity.

“The programme invites women from all over KZN, from all spheres of life wanting to be uplifted, in business, beauty and fashion.”

Speakers will talk on how women can strengthen each other, give each other a platform from which to shine, and start new concepts.

“We will have a number of speakers from various sectors - ministry, politics, business and more. The general manager of Ugu Community Services, Vuyi Tsako, will speak on leadership, Fikile Masiko on education, Dr Nomsa Buso on health, Mam Nomcebo Msimang on ministry and I will talk about elegance, etiquette and looking beautiful inside and out as women,” said Cele.

The women will also be given fashion tips when seven designers showcase garments for different occasions.

“What’s expected from this imbizo is for us women to bridge the gap of the bad mindset women have which we call “the pull-her-down-syndrome”. We want to instil a mindset of pulling each other up and working together,” said Cele.

Tickets are still available, but seats are limited.
