FITNESS classes began at Gamalakhe Sizanani Centre on Wednesday 16 December and will last for 10 weeks.

Robynn Niemack, who will be co-ordinating the classes with Christel Booysen, a Herbalife independent member, said the daily 60-minute #FIT4ACTIVISM dance fitness class is a platform to celebrate liberty and the power of inner strength.

“Many victims of abuse are silenced and paralysed by fear – a fear that can be broken. This proactive collaboration between Esayidi College, Impact Africa and Herbal Life aims to activate unity so that victims can be confident they have community support,” said Niemack.

She said the medium of dance fitness has proven to be effective in the empowerment of women and children.

“Classes provide a non-threatening environment for participants to eliminate stress, get fit and gain focus and perspective.

“Music and movement free the soul and the prioritisation of one’s wellness is the first step towards understanding self-worth,” she said.

Booysen will assist participants with wellness evaluation, metabolic age, fat percentage and muscle mass assessments.

Classes take place from 5pm every Tuesday and Thursday.

Participants are encouraged to dress in fitness gear, takkies, bring a towel, a bottle of water and be ready for a class full of vibrant energy and electrifying music.
