ACCLAIMED folk-meets-pop artist Rowan Stuart will be performing at Rocky Ridge in Ramsgate next week.

The performance will be part of his national Innerworld Tour, which will see him performing in KwaZulu-Natal, Eastern Cape, Western Cape, Northern Cape, Free State and Gauteng.

His unique sound has been described as a combination of Sting’s imaginative storytelling, Death Cab For Cutie’s sense of space and beauty and John Mayer’s tight grooves.

He earned himself the founder spot of the folk-meet-pop genre for his ability to seamlessly cross over from acoustic singer-songwriter to radio charting pop artist while retaining his signature depth of content.

“I’m a natural introvert, and I live mostly in my head. Sometimes my inner world filters through into the songs I write. The stage is my favourite place to share this inner universe with others where words and music turn my thoughts into reality for a moment,” he said.

Although this is his first national solo tour Rowan has also previously toured the country as the opening act for several renowned artists including the The Parlotones, Prime Circle and Matthew Mole.

His chart topping debut album Hidden Doors was released in 2014 and his single Silver Balloon, released late in 2016, was play-listed on major radio stations across South Africa, including 5FM, East Coast Radio, Algoa FM, KFM, 947.

The Innerworld Tour performances will include new unreleased material, acoustic interpretations of songs from Rowan’s five albums, and re-imagined cover versions, as well as his hit single, Silver Balloon.

Catch him at Rocky Ridge on Sunday August 20 at R40 entrance.

Doors open at 12pm, performances from 2pm. Contact 072 473 6095 or email info@rockyridge.co.za for bookings.
