THE PhumlaniM Foundation members visited Umzinto, Sezela and Scottsburgh on Sunday and spoke to the youth and shared ideas with them about their presentation at the Umzinto dining hall.

Foundation founder Phumlani Mzobe said the team was well received by the youth and shared valuable information, exchanged ideas and learnt from each other.

Mzobe said the aim of the excursion is for the youth from the foundation to speak to young people from different backgrounds, learn from them and teach them about life.

“One has learnt that everyone has a hunger for success and every young person is determined to achieve their goals.

“We have also been educated that social ills like irresponsible and risky sexual behaviour, drugs and HIV/Aids continue to be a stumbling block to many ambitious young individuals,” said Mzobe.

He said more organisation and foundations, religious, cultural and political parties should be involved in exposing and guiding the youth.

“Not all of them will listen and be helped, but the few who can be influenced can be ambassadors of goodwill and behaviour."

He said as the foundation they are pleased that 15 young people joined the foundation and promised that recruitment will continue.

“We also look forward to seeing the youth participate in the foundation’s programmes,” he said.

Mzobe thanked Mbali Cele of Umdoni Municipality, who assisted in organising the event.

“We would also like to thank Sanelisiwe Khawula who played a vital role in the recruitment of new members and Nosipho Nhlangulela who kept it together.”
