HCM councillor dies after lengthy illness

HIBISCUS Coast Municipality experienced another loss after a member of Executive Council died recently.

Councillor Piet Rademeyer of the ANC died last Friday after a long illness. HCM has expressed sadness in a media statement.

Known by his Zulu name Nkom’iyahlaba, Rademeyer had been a councillor in the municipality since its inception.

HCM spokesperson Simon April said Rademeyer will be greatly missed.

“During his time of his death he was also the chairperson of the Corporate Services Portfolio Committee. The mayor Nomusa Mqwebu sends her deepest condolences to his family, friends, political party and fellow councillors,” said April.

The municipality is arranging a memorial service during the course of the week. The public will be informed in due course said April.
