TWO light motor vehicles collided head on at the St Mikes bridge around 11am on Tuesday.

Kwazulu Private Ambulance spokesperson Belinda Catchpole said three occupants were involved in the accident and one of them was trapped inside one vehicle.

“Paramedics from Kwazulu Private Ambulance arrived at the site of the crash and an initial triage was done and it was found that a lady with multiple fractures was entrapped in her car,” said Catchpole.

She said the woman was stabilised and extricated with teamwork from Kwazulu Private Ambulance paramedics, the fire department and provincial ambulance.

“The woman was transported to hospital in a serious condition while the other two patients did not require ambulance transportation.”

The exact cause of the crash is still being investigated.
