THE Hibiscus Kennel Club Championship Show has been successfully done and dusted.

Congratulations to members who received QCs. Display them with pride as you have worked hard to achieve them. We thank the local judges Niki Calvert and Heather Moorcroft for their courses which were challenging but fair and we also wish to thank Heather and Jean Whittaker who did not compete but gave up their time to scribe and assist the judges.

Mdoni House took care of our out-of-town judges, Gawie Faul and Mary Rose and Harbour View Spar sent their pancake cart to feed the visitors.

Montego were once again our generous main sponsors and Bravecto sponsored goodie bags, which were full of interesting dog-wear such as soft dog blankets. Tails-Up always assist us with products and Karen Carlton Shields donated dog beds.

Canine Good Citizen eventually completed after many delays, but once again congratulations to the members and their canine friends who excelled in all three categories.

Judge Janet Rouillard was very complimentary of the standard of obedience at the club as always, and we had a 100% pass rate. We thank her for making the trip to Port Shepstone from Durban.

Chelsea now challenges her friends to start preparing for the next test as she thinks she is ready to tackle the first step, which will be bronze.

Ninette Smith and Swish are back home from Spain where they competed in the Agility World Championships against Germany Spain and Canada. It was a wonderful experience and the travel bug has bitten, so we hope to see them selected again next year.

We are pleased to announce that the field is rehabilitated and training is continuing.

Unfortunately, the weatherman has been a bit indecisive of late which has left members wondering whether it is worth the effort. It is always worth the effort as invariably we manage to do some form of training each Saturday afternoon. There is always a trainer on duty.

A reminder to members, who have not been for a while, training starts at 2pm with Beginners Agility and Orientation and/or Puppy Class followed by Obedience at 3pm until 3.45pm.

We remind you to always have your lead and collar as well as a toy and treats and to wear comfortable clothing and a hat.

Members are also reminded that fees of R200 per annum are due on the anniversary of joining the club. For more information, contact Sharon on 073 601 4622 or Jenny on 083 250 4253.
