WORLD Karate Federation (WKF) Ugu region held fifth annual karate tournament at Port Shepstone Secondary on 21 May with over 120 entrants taking part.
A high standard of karate was displayed, showing the growth of WKF Ugu Karate Region, and providing karateka the opportunity of competing at the highest level.
Nine Ugu Karate KZN and Karate South Africa-affiliated karate clubs participated with medals being won in kata, kumite and unison, with ages ranging from five to veterans.
The tournament is a precursor to the selection for the Karate KZN Development Tournament (white to purple belts), to be held in September in Durban.
