SOUTH Coasters, visitors and businesses took part in the South Coast Hospice walk on Monday morning starting and finishing at Uvongo beach.

The well-attended event had young and old taking part in the five-kilometre and the 10km walks. Hospice fund-raiser BT King said it was a huge success.

“South Coast Hospice was blessed with a net income of R6 148.30.

“We take this opportunity to thank everyone who was involved in this event, in whatever way, on the day, leading up to it,” said King.

She thanked everyone for making the event successful.

“We would like to thank one of the organisers Ramona Coxen, the RE/Max By the Sea Margate, Martins principal Jessica Henderson, Martins Funeral Services came on board as a sponsor for the water table. It also supplied calendars, packs of water and refreshments, South Coast Striders and the team and volunteers of South Coast Hospice for manning the registration and the food stalls where tummies were taken care of after the event and everyone else who was at the event,” said King.
