House robber sentenced

MONDLI Ngidi (24) of Mfazazana in Hibberdene appeared in the Scottburgh Regional Court where he was convicted of house robbery and sentenced on Wednesday, 20 July, to 15 years’ imprisonment.

A second accused was acquitted.

A 32-year-old victim in Marriane Road in Hibberdene was asleep on 23 June, 2015 at 3.40am, when she heard strange sounds.

She awoke to find a stranger in her room. A second suspect emerged from the ceiling and both men helped themselves to, inter alia, handbags, a TV, laptop, two cellphones, jewellery, cosmetics and a hairdryer.

The case was investigated by Detective Sergeant Thokozisi Innocent Gumede of the Hibberdene SAPS Detective Service. - Supplied.
