Marina Beach closure notice

2016-09-29 06:00

THE South Coast is to host the Wildlife and Environment Society of South Africa (WESSA) and National Department of Tourism on 7 October at Marina Beach.

Due to this event the beach will be closed as the Minister of Tourism Derek Hanekom will be officially launching the 2016/2017 Blue flag season and WESSA’s new coastal tourism and youth development project.

Nikki Tilley of Ugu South Coast Tourism said it is a privilege that the minister chose Ray Nkonyeni Municipality to be the host of these projects.

Tilley said this is a prestigious event that has secured a significant amount of media coverage, from which the South Coast will benefit enormously.

She urged the community to notify their guests about the closure of the beach from the early morning until 2.30pm.
