THE Ugu District health department together with KwaZulu-Natal Health MEC Dr Sibongiseni Dhlomo hosted an event at KwaDweshula to commemorate Youth Month on Saturday. The theme for the event was ‘Move for your health: Youth against drug abuse.’

Attending the event were senior officials from the health department and youth from the area.

In his speech Dhlomo encouraged the community to be involved in physical activities so that they can reduce chronic diseases.

He said the youth must do away with drugs as they lead to many wrong decisions. He also encouraged that the community works together with the SAPS to fight drug abuse.- supplied
