THE forest-themed Ingeli Forest MTB, the second leg of the popular South Coast Fever MTB Series 2017, took place at Ingeli Forest Lodge near Harding last Sunday.

The challenging track went through the indigenous forest, which is at the foothills of the Ingeli Mountain.

The race was divided into the 40km classic ride, the 25km intermediate ride and an eight kilometre fun walk and ride.

The men’s 40km race was won by Jedson Tooms in 1:24:05 and the women’s 40km race was taken by Hayley Smith in 1:35:36.

Smith also won the 45km women’s Sardine MTB Race in Port Edward on July 2.

The Sappi Scottburgh MTB Race, the third leg in the series, takes place on August 13 at Scottburgh Beach.

40 km male overall
