HIBISCUS Coast Municipality delivered a number of projects in various communities during the 2016/2017 draft budget­ izimbizos.

HCM mayor, Nomusa Mqwebu and ward councillors officially handed over the projects, which had been requested by communities.

The community of kwaDujazana in Bhobhoyi had requested a community hall and the municipality secured a budget­ through the Municipal Infrastructure­ Funding in 2014/2015 for it.

The second project handed over was that requested by the community of Thembisa.

The scope of works was to upgrade the existing sports field, construct a new ablution block and change rooms, which also caters for disabled people, the construction of a new combo court and water and electricity connection. This total cost of the project was R4.5 million.

The other was the Shibase Sports Complex, which cost R2.4 million.
