RAY Nkonyeni Municipality scooped two awards recently, one from the KZN Expanded Public Works Programme, Kamoso Awards for the Best Non-State Sector Category and a certificate and a trophy for Clean Administration from the Institute of Municipal Financial Officers (IMFO).

Both awards ceremonies were held in Durban recently.

Mayor Nomusa Mqwebu said winning the Kamoso Award follows a vigorous recruitment of unemployed communities in the areas of Ray Nkonyeni Municipality, where more than 1 600 people have benefited from the community works programme.

The IMFO awards was awarded to the municipality in recognition of clean administration and adhering to its principles in achieving a clean audit outcome for 2014/15.

During this period the municipality received an unqualified audit with no findings.
