EXPOSED wires and unlocked Eskom boxes have been on the complaints list of the Palm Beach Residents and Ratepayers’ Association for several months.

This according to Ronel Kolbe, chairperson of the association, who says she has informed Eskom several times about the danger it poses.

“I contacted Eskom several times last year and have the reference numbers, but nothing has been done yet,” said Kolbe.

There is not only one, but four boxes along the beachfront road which locals and holidaymakers frequent, including children.

“Anybody could get hurt or electrocuted, especially a child, if he or she touches the wires,” said Kolbe.

“There are several boxes along the road which are exposed. Eskom must investigate and establish if someone has tampered with these boxes or if it is negligence on a contractor’s part,” she added.

The Fever contacted Eskom for comment, who acknowledged the query, however comment was not forthcoming at the time of going to press.
