PADDOCK farmers made sure the Paddock Fishing Competition was successful and enjoyed by all.

Nikki Tilley of South Coast Tourism participated in the competition and said it was a well attended and organised two-day event.

Participants and supporters came to the party with donations of prizes, valued at more than R100 000, and lucky draw items.

“Speaking to one of the club members without numbers being verified, it would seem there may have been an increase in out-of-town visitors as there were lots of new faces,” she said.

“There was even a gentleman from England who fished and apparently comes out each year specifically for the competition,” said Tilley.

Tilley said the family spirit was unbeatable, with little children - Guppies - participating.

“The Guppies received T-shirts and prizes as the new generation of proudly South Coast fisherman who are living healthy, outdoor lives,” she said.
