OVERFLOWING recycling bins outside the Harbourview Spar and the dump site at New Bolton have been neglected by the Hibiscus Coast Municipality, it seems.

A resident in the St Faith’s area, close to the site, said he reported to HCM that the refuse from the site had not been collected in weeks, but his complaint fell on deaf ears.

“Sometimes refuse is collected regularly and other times it’s left to accumulate for months,” said the man.

“I shop at the Harbourview Spar and noticed that the recycling bins are overflowing. I have complained to the municipality about this too, but nothing has been done.”

He said it was sad that the municipality would leave the recycling bins to get to such a terrible state, especially since the town is becoming busier with holidaymakers.

“However, the town should be kept neat at all times because we as ratepayers deserve a clean town in which to live.”

The Hibiscus Coast Municipality was asked to comment, but failed to send any correspondence with regard to the matter.
