Remove voting poster eyesores

2016-10-27 06:00

NOW that municipal elections are long over, you would expect to drive around without seeing ”number one” grinning at us as he empties Treasury while reminding us to vote for his party on 3 August.

Why then is it that Port Shepstone has a massive billboard still erected reminding us to vote ANC? Why is it that when I leave home every day I am greeted by a poster of the ANC councillor I did not vote for in Port Edward?

I am sure there are many other areas that still have posters that should have been removed long ago and I’m willing to bet the majority of them belong to ANC.

Perhaps the R50 fine per poster is not enough to motivate them to remove these eyesores. The fine should be R50 per day so that the taxpayer can at least get something back seeing as there is very little in the way of service delivery.

Voting is Over
