CHILDREN at the Port Shepstone Regional Hospital’s paediatric ward ignored their illness and smiled as they received gifts from the Lacote d’Azur Resort on Mandela Day.

For their 67 minutes resort management spent time with the children and left them with a gift pack including drawing material and toys.

General manager at the resort Petra Meyer said nothing beat the joy in the children’s faces when they received their gifts.

“We’re all parents - it was an amazing experience for us to be able to bring some joy to the children even though they are sick,” said Meyer.

Head sister in the ward Sister Thembeka Mpunyuka said the hospital appreciated the resort’s kindness.
