THE Durban Stars Football Club, in association with SuperSport, hosted the second annual Top 32 Schools Soccer Tournament.

A total of 32 of KwaZulu-Natal schools were chosen to participate in this event.

The event gives the pupils and soccer enthusiasts a chance to be selected to play in the professional league.

Olwandle High won the 2015 tournament and were asked to host the tournament at Ugu Sports and Leisure Centre on Saturday.

Port Shepstone High and Southcity Christian School competed against three schools to qualify for the top 16. Olwandle High was the only school that made through after beating Adams College 2-1.

The next games will be played in Hillcrest in a few weeks.

Olwandle High sports co-ordinator Mkhondi Mufamadi said it was a great gam and they are looking forward to the next rounds.

Weekend scores:

Port Shepstone High 0-1 Mpangeni High, Southcity Christian High 0-2 Brettonwood High, Olwandle 2-1 Adams College.

Mufuamadi asks the community to support Olwandle High because they represent Ugu at the tournament.
