PERFORMERS and musicians exceeded all expectations as they entertained a packed hall in Gamalakhe on Saturday at the annual Arts Against Crime Festival.

From acoustic guitar and acapella vocals to inspirational poetry and hip-hop, the stage was alive with sound and movement.

A highlight was a performance by singer and drama fanatic, Vuyo Majeke from Southcity Christian College.

When she finishes school she wants to further her studies in the arts in Johannesburg or Cape Town.

Phumlani Mzobe ended the day with a thought-provoking talk on the importance of discipline and how to become a good artist.

Many of the artists will be contacted by the Hibiscus Coast Municipality and possibly used for future functions.

“Social development programmes of this nature are important in order to impact the community giving a hand-up as opposed to a hand-out,” said Mark Thornton-Smith of One Way. - Supplied.
