Six arrested with links to hijacking

SIX suspects, three male and three females, were arrested in Port St John after a 41-year-old woman was reported missing in Ezinqoleni.

The woman was reported missing after leaving home last Friday morning, transporting children to school in Manzamhlophe in a white Toyota Corolla­.

Police spokesperson Captain Gerald Mfeka said Ezinqoleni police contacted the motor vehicle tracking company to find out the whereabouts of the vehicle.

“The vehicle was located in Port St Johns, Eastern Cape. Police went to the location and found six occupants in the vehicle and detained them there for being in possession of suspected stolen property,” said Mfeka.

The following day at 4.30am, the body of a female, who had been hijacked was found in a gumtree forest at Braemer Farm near Port Edward.

“The six suspects will appear at Port St Johns Court on Monday on a charges of being in possession of suspected stolen property.

Ezinqoleni Detectives fetched them to face their charges of murder and kidnapping at Ezinqoleni Court on Tuesday,” said Mfeka. - Supplied.
