2016-01-07 06:00

WITH the holiday season just about over stakeholders within Ugu District gave feedback on the festive season.

Ugu South Coast Tourism CEO Justin Mackrory said indications are that they had sustained visitor volumes albeit the per capita spend may have diminished due to the economic climate, but all went well.

Beach activations up and down the coast for families were well received.

Mackrory said however, there were a few complaints.

“The only complaints we had related to certain beaches on public holidays and relating to traffic control, enforcement of by-laws and littering.”

Mackrory said in this regard Tourism will have discussions about the issues with the municipalities concerned.

“We have had positive comment on improvements to some key amenities and ablution upgrades and beach side aesthetics,” said Mackrory.
