SOUTH Korean, Carrie Park, is to take her place among the professionals at the 2015 South African Women’s Open at San Lameer Country Club from 29 November to 1 December.

Park said she is excited to launch her “rookie season” on the Hibiscus Coast.

Park shot 79 and 82, two of the worst scores posted in all her years of golfing, when she made her debut in the SA Women’s Open as an amateur last year.

Park said she’s been working hard for three months to be ready for the open.

“I’ve worked really hard these past three months and have been testing my game on the IGT Tour. I believe I am ready to take the plunge on the Sunshine Ladies Tour,” she said.

Park has been in South Africa for four years and has represented Gauteng north in provincial and national levels.

“The Sanlam SA Women’s Amateur Stroke Play and Amateur Championships were the two events I really wanted to win.

“Once I accomplished that in July, I focused on getting my game ready to join the pro ranks on the Sunshine Ladies Tour.

“I was so pleased to learn that the SA Women’s Open would go ahead as a national championship this year,” said Park.

She has always enjoyed playing in KwaZulu-Natal, especially on the Hibiscus Coast and is excited to return to San Lameer she said.
