SPENDING all day in the sun is a health hazard as Shelly Centre car guards can relate to. With this in mind, on Tuesday morning centre management gave all the guards free sunscreen, much to their delight.

Shelly Centre operational manager, Rajan Pillay, said 15 tubes of sunscreen were bought from Cansa Port Shepstone for the car guards and more will be bought throughout summer for them.

“We are in support of Cansa Port Shepstone and as part of its cancer awareness sunscreen campaign we bought sunscreen for all our guards who work long hours in the scorching sun.

“We will be buying more and it will be continuous throughout the sunny season,” said Pillay.

The car guards were happy to get the sunscreen and kept the additional tubes for colleagues who were not on duty that morning.
