THE Ezingolweni Taxi Association gave back to the community on Wednesday donating more than 140 uniforms to 28 schools in the area.

The association and community members gathered at Mbeni community hall for the handover.

Mr Malishe of Ezingolweni Taxi Association said the aim of the uniform handover is to give back to their supporters, the children, parents and the community as a whole.

“Ezingolweni Taxi Association has never been associated with good deeds, only taxi wars and everything else.

“Today we want to change the mindset of our community by giving back to them,” said Malishe.

He said it is part of their constitution as an association to give back to the community, saying that the taxi industry has been “born again”.

The 28 schools that benefitted from the handover are schools in Kwaxolo, KwaNyuswa, Mthimude and Izingolweni.
