BHAVASHNI Kanhai, a qualified mathematics and science teacher in Port Shepstone, recently graduated cum laude with a Masters in business administration (MBA) degree from Mancosa.

At a ceremony held at the Durban ICC, Kanhai was praised by the institution for her outstanding results and was conferred with the trophy for top MBA student for 2016.

Kanhai said she was ecstatic to be announced as the top MBA student and that the award was especially an honour as there was an exceptional calibre of South African and international students who graduated.

She not only received honours in her coursework, she also obtained a distinction for her Masters research on Section 21 School Financial Management.

Due to her research, her dissertation was chosen as one of the top dissertations for the year.

She was selected to showcase her research at the institute’s research evening attended by professors and academics. Kanhai is passionate about education management and leadership.

“The skills, expertise and acumen I acquired through successfully completing one of the most sought after degrees in the world will no doubt strengthen my contribution in the field of education management,” she said. - Supplied.
