THE Ugu Athletics Club will be hosting their Ramaloo Nandiah Battle Marathon at Port Shepstone Senior Secondary next Saturday.

The community club said runners can participate in either the 21km, 10km or 5km and stand a chance of winning up to R1 000 in cash.

Club spokesperson Deon Chetty encouraged the community to support the run named after the club’s founder, Eddie Ramaloo.

“He is the type of person who goes the extra mile to assist our runners no matter what the case.

His passion for this club is so huge words cannot describe the personality he has brought to the club,” said Chetty.
Ramaloo also facilitated all training programmes for the club and was responsible for their success in the Comrades and Two Oceans marathons.

The 21km run will start at 6.30am and 7.30am for the 5km and 10km run on Sunday September 24. Joining fee starts from R20 per runner.

Contact Ramaloo on 083 777 4890 or Reshen on 073 170 7978 for more details.
