IF a four-day Wild Coast serve-safari during the July holiday on the Umtamvuna Ridge sounds like something on your bucket list, sign up for the four-day volunteer camp during the holidays.

Organised by Serve-safaris, this is meant to kick-start a hands-on socioeconomic and social-cohesion movement for people who want to make a positive contribution to South Africa’s future. Weekend and holiday safaris will build up towards a primary eco-tourism project that will be launched with a festival on the Umtamvuna Ridge at a later stage. Joint-ventures will not only ensure an income base for locals right from the start – but will also help to establish an integrated business model and much-needed nation-building spirit.

In association with VIP Multimedia Network Solutions two involved community members, Priscilla Nyembezi and Norman Stoffels, are excited to invite volunteers. Priscilla, a pastor’s wife would love to share her vision with other pioneers, groups of friends, family, church or youth leaders who would like to join them for a few chores and some fun activities.

The only cost for the first camp-out will be for meals prepared by the ladies. The local policing forum will provide a security service.
Volunteers are asked to bring some indigenous trees with them that can be planted on site as a symbolic gesture and sky lanterns for those who want to release them at night with messages of hope.
