Water bill finally adjusted

2016-03-24 06:00

AFTER months of emails going back and forth between an Ugu client, Patsy Chetty from Albersville, and the municipality concerning adjustments to her water bill after a serious leak, she has finally received the adjustment.

Since May 2015, Chetty has been trying to get the municipality to adjust her water bill, but failed.

“The last call received was from a lady at Ugu communications department who said, ‘you should try going into the Ugu offices instead of calling and emailing to get assistance’.” said Chetty who has been following up on the query.

Chetty said the issue goes back to May 2015 and all she has been hearing is “the municipality is on it”.

In September 2015, the client was told the adjustment would reflect in her next statement and was told to pay the difference, which she did, but nothing reflected on her account.

On 17 March Chetty went back to the municipality to follow up on the issue.

“I went to the Port Shepstone Municipality to follow up on the issue and asked for my latest statement, and it was only then that I learnt the adjustment had been made and reflected on my statement.”
