HEARTY and mouth-watering aromas filled the air on Saturday morning when the Wild Coast Sun hosted the final leg of the curry-cooking contest.

Vying for the top spot were chefs from all over the country. Judges included South Africa’s first MasterChef, Deena Naidoo, and comedian Karou Charou did not disappoint as emcee, who had the capacity crowd in stitches.

Contestants had an hour to whip up an outstanding vegetarian curry dish and impress judges, who agreed it was a close call, but Brian Venkatesan walked away the winner.
