THREE Suid-Natal Martial Arts Academy members received medals at the Karate South Africa (KSA) tournament in Tongaat last weekend.
The event consisted of a development division for white to purple belts in all ages.

Karateka Aiden Zandberg, Wian De Beer and Erich Meyer competed in development championships, with Aiden winning bronze for 10 to 11-year-old boys’ kumite, Wian for seven to nine boys’ kata and Erich for 12 to 13-year-old boys’ kumite.

Teammate Tyler Hogan was in Johannesburg competing in the Africa Goju Ryu Championship. He brought home bronze for kata and bronze for kumite in the 14-15 elite group for brown and black belt, a category above his age group.
