Drug addiction is rife advertorial

AC HEALTH and Wellness Centre in conjunction with the community recently went out to raise awareness in the community, by talking to families affected by drugs.

AC Health and Wellness spokesperson Arlene Joseph said the community needs to join forces in order to help rid families of these drugs. While giving out bread and first aid packs to the community, a mother said she needs to work as a car guard to pay for her child’s drugs. “Our children are emptying our homes, and selling whatever has value to pay for these drugs, just to get their next fix.”

Heroin is plaguing the communities all over KZN. Children as young as 11 years old are using this drug, commonly known as sugars or whoonga. Once used people need to get multiple fixes a day and will do nearly anything to get it.

What is the future going to be if addicts are dropping out of school, colleges and jobs to sustain this horrific habit. Sad as this is, very little is being done to help addicts overcome this scourge because are not doing enough against the fight of drug addiction.
