GLEDHOW Darts Club clinched the KSST Auto Engineering-sponsored KwaDukuza Darts Association League title on Wednesday night at The Quartz Conference Centre to notch up a hat-trick of league titles in the 2015 season.

The Gledhow outfit, boasting a blend of seasoned campaigners (including the likes of Paddy Padayachee and Vigen Murugan) and youth (comprising Darrel Shanmagum, Neeran Somnath, Terrence Subban, Ashley Haripersad and Terrence Pillay) dominated the domestic league competition annexing the Trophies Engravers League and The Distell League before adding the KSST League silverware to their bulging trophy cabinet.

President of KwaDukuza Darts Association, Jerry Govender thanked Krish Kistan (CEO of KSST) for his generous sponsorship and commended the Gledhow lads on their outstanding performance throughout the season.

The KSST League title went right down to the wire with log leaders Gledhow holding a slender advantage (boasting three wins from four matches) and Isithebe Paints (who played second fiddle to the league champions, winning two games from four matches) breathing heavily down the neck of the log leaders.

Isithebe stunned the log leaders on Wednesday night trouncing them 7-4 to level the scores. There were premature celebrations in the Isithebe camp after their victory against Gledhow on Wednesday night.

After notching up back-to-back league victories against Gledhow United, Isithebe were odds-on favourites to repeat their feat (in their double header clash) on Wednesday night in the hope of snatching the KSST League title from the jaws of death.

But, the Isithebe lads threw horrendous darts, especially in the doubles and singles matches which led to their 3-8 demise at the hands of rookies Gledhow United, who beat the more fancied Isithebe outfit for the first time in the 2015 season.

The Isithebe lads held their head in disbelief after failing to secure the KSST League right at the finish line. But, they were holding onto a silver lining in the clouds, hoping that United could repeat their feat against Gledhow in the final league match on Wednesday night.

Victory for United would have resulted in both Isithebe and Gledhow finishing joint first, with the calculators needed to separate both teams (based on the points aggregate). With Isithebe boasting a far more superior points aggregate, they would have turned from bridesmaid to be the bride if United beat Gledhow.

But, Gledow shunned the hopes of Isithebe with a pulsating 7-4 win against United to clinch the KSST League title.

President of KwaDukuza Darts
Association, Jerry Govender thanked Krish Kistan (CEO of KSST) for his generous sponsorship and commended the Gledhow lads on their oustanding performance throughout the season.
