GROVE End Volleyball Club are strong contenders for honours in the Ralph Reuben Memorial Knockout Cup (hosted by KwaDukuza Volleyball Association).

Grove End won five straight league games on a trot and enjoy pole position at the summit of the log table since the start of the 2015 season.

They clinched the pre-season Top 8 Knockout Cup and added the Caminamix Services-sponsored Easter silverware to their over-bulging trophy cabinet. With such outstanding credentials it is difficult to look beyond them in the race for honours.

The semi-finals will take place on Thursday, 11 June with the final scheduled for 18 June. Trophies (sponsored by the Reuben Family) will be awarded to the top three finishers after the final.

The opening round of the competition was postponed on Thursday night due to the terrible windy conditions.

The games were re-scheduled for last night (Tuesday) and results were not available at the time of going to press.

The quarter-final clash between Manor and KSST is expected to produce tons of grunting.
